Mis portadas favoritas de DK3/My favourite DK3 covers.

¡Muy buenas a todos! Muchos fueron los artistas que se animaron a dibujar y pintar portadas para la nueva obra maestra DK3: The Master Race (Aún no ha salido, pero afrontémoslo. El guionista es Frank Miller, será una obra maestra). Las portadas serán alternativas y las que aparecerán en los distintos tomos depende de el lugar y la edición. Tantos han sido los dibujantes que participaron en el lanzamiento masivo de portadas, que me veo incapaz de encontrarlas todas. Así que, en esta entrada, os enseñare mis portadas favoritas.

Hello everyone! A good amount of artists decided to draw and paint covers for the new masterpiece DK3: The Master Race (The comic hasn't been released yet, but let's face it. The writer is Frank Miller, it's obviously going to be a masterpiece). The alternative covers which appear in each comic will depend on the country and the edition. There are a really high number of alternative covers by now, and i don't think i can post them all. However, in this post, i will show you my favourite ones.

Esta es definitivamente mi portada favorita. Es decir, el dibujo es básicamente alucinante. Gabrielle DelOtto ha hecho un trabajo increíble, dibujando a Batman al estilo de Frank Miller pero haciéndolo infinitamente más realista. La escena que se ve es de las más importantes de The Dark Knight Returns, en la que un viejo Batman consigue vencer al líder de "los mutantes" en un combate cuerpo a cuerpo.

This is definitely my favourite cover. I mean, the drawing is basically amazing. Gabrielle delOtto has done an inredible job, drawing the Batman we all know from Frank Miller's comics, but infinitely more realistic. The scene that the picture shows is one of the most importants from The Dark Knight Returns, in which an older Batman manages to defeat the leader of "The Mutants" in a fight.

Otra portada que me encanta es la de Brian Bolland, el dibujante de el legendario cómic "The Killing Joke" ("La Broma Asesina" en castellano). El dibujo simplemente muestra a Batman y al Joker, ambos tal y como los vimos en The Dark Knight Returns. Lo único malo que puedo decir es que físicamente el Batman y el Joker del dibujo no se parecen demasiado a los de Frank Miller.

Another cover i absolutely love is the one from Brian Bolland, the person who drew the legendary comic The Killing Joke. The drawing just shows both Batman and Joker, as we saw them in The Dark Knight Returns graphic novel. The only bad thing i can say is that physically the drawing's Batman and Joker are not pretty similar to Frank Miller's.

La portada de Lee Bermejo es muy buena (Lee Bermejo es mi dibujante favorito), y lo que más me ha llamado la atención de su portada es aquello que nos ha querido mostrar. Es prácticamente el único dibujante que ha decicido dibujar la escena en la que la policía persigue a Batman, tratándolo como a un criminal (la parte tiene mucha importancia en la novela gráfica The Dark Knight Returns). Me ha encantado la originalidad del dibujo.

Lee Bermejo's cover is really good (Lee Bermejo is my very favorite artist), and the thing that most called my attention in the cover is the scene he wanted to show us. He is practically the only draftsman who decided to draw the scene in which the police persues Batman as if he was a criminal (which is part of great importance in the graphic novel The Dark Knight Returns). I loved the originality of the drawing.

Por último, tenemos la portada de Sean Gordon Murphy, que también me ha gustado bastante. El dibujo es magnífico y la escena que se muestra en la imagen es, definitivamente, la más importante de toda la novela gráfica The Dark Knight Returns. La mítica batalla entre Batman y Superman. Lo que no me gusta de la portada es la poca originalidad, ya que la gran mayoría de dibujantes han dibujado esta escena.

Lastly, we have Sean Gordon Murphy's cover, which I also liked quite a lot. The drawing is magnificent and the scene the picture shows is, definitely, the most important one from The Dark Knight Returns graphic novel. The mythic fight between Batman and Superman. What I dislike about this cover is the little originality, as most of the artists drew the same part of the story.
