Jared Leto, ¿el Joker de Frank Miller?/Jared Leto, Frank Miller's Joker?

Supongo que ya habréis visto todos el tráiler de Suicide Squad (si no lo habéis visto, ¿a qué estáis esperando? ¡abrid YouTube y buscadlo!). Jared Leto hizo una interpretación del Joker espectacular en el tráiler (y eso que sólo aparece unos pocos segundos). Muchas de las personas que no estaban del todo contentas con Jared Leto interpretando al Joker, fueron impresionadas cuando vieron el tráiler. No obstante, el Joker no es siempre el mismo en los cómics. ¿Qué Joker será el que interprete Jared Leto?

I guess that all of you have already watched the Suicide Squad film trailer (if you haven't, what are you waiting for? go check it out in YouTube!). Jared Leto did an spectacular interpretation of the Joker (appearing only for a few seconds). A lot of people who hated Jared Leto's Joker, have now changed of idea...However, the Joker is not always the same one in the comics. Which Joker will be Jared Leto's one?

Cuando oí por primera vez que Jared Leto jugaría el papel de Joker en la película "Suicide Squad", me vino a la cabeza inmediatamente el Joker del guionista Grant Morrison. No obstante, pensé en él básicamente por su parecido físico. Ninguno de ambos tienen cejas, ambos tienen el pelo recogido para atrás... Así que supongo que, al menos en el aspecto físico, estará basado parcialmente en este Joker. Además, en los cómics de Grant Morrison, el personaje es característico por ser un gran psicópata. ¿Tal vez el Joker de la película tendrá la mente del de Grant Morrison?

When i first heard that Jared Leto would play the Joker's role on the Suicide Squad movie, Grant Morrison's Joker automatically came to my mind. However, i thought about him mainly because of the physical similarities. None of them have eyebrows, both of them have the same haircut...So, i guess that Jared Leto's Joker will be inspired partially in Grant Morrison's. Also, in his comics, the Joker is such a murderous psycopath. May the movie's Joker have Grant Morrison's Joker mind?

Lo que me ha llevado a pensar que el personaje esté basado (al menos parcialmente) en el Joker de Scott Snyder, es básicamente que Batman será una mezcla entre el de El Retorno del Caballero Oscuro y el de los nuevos 52. Por lo tanto, ¿tal vez ocurra lo mismo con el Joker? Además, también tienen bastantes similitudes físicas.

What brought me to think that the character will be inspired (at least partially) on Scott Snyder's Joker, is basically that the Batman which will appear will be a mix between The Dark knight Returns' Batman and the one from The New 52. So, maybe they'll do the same with the Joker? They also have a lot of physical similarities (just like Grant Morrison's).

Finalmente, ¡el Joker de Frank Miller! Estoy muy convencido de que el personaje en la película estará basado mayoritariamente en este. Así es, este Joker tiene tatuajes. De todos modos, eso no es lo único que me lleva a pensar la inspiración en esta versión del villano. Otro motivo por el que esto podría ser cierto, es porque (ya mencioné esto antes) Batman será una mezcla entre el de El Retorno del Caballero Oscuro y el de los nuevos 52. Supongo que lo mismo ocurrirá con el Joker (Frank Miller escribió El Retorno del Caballero Oscuro). Sinceramente, no me hace mucha gracia porque el Joker de Miller no es precisamente mi favorito, pero eh, ¡podría funcionar!

Finally, Frank Miller's Joker. I'm quite sure that the character in the movie will be inspired mostly by this Joker. And yes, this Joker also has tattoos. However, the tattoo thing isn't what got me to think in this villain's version inspiration. Another reason why this could be true, is because (i already mentioned this before) Batman will be a mix between The Dark Knight Returns' Batman and the New 52 one. I guess that they'll do the same thing with the Joker (Frank Miller wrote The Dark Knight Returns). I don't like this idea at all because well, Miller's Joker isn't my favorite. But hey, it could work!

Me gustaría poder comparar con más versiones del Joker y mencionar mis teorías, pero por ahora lo único que sabemos es su aspecto físico y no hay demasiado que comparar. En cuanto salga más información a la luz, haré una entrada mucho más trabajada teniendo todos los aspectos en cuenta.

I'd love to compare with more Joker versions and mention my own theories, but for now all we know about the Joker from the movie is his voice, his face and his body and there's not much to compare. As soon as more information is known, i'll make a way better post taking all aspects into account. I'll now leave some comparisons between Miller's Joker and Jared Leto's.
