Now, I'm going to talk about some things "specialists" said. Most of them talk about the movie not being well-structured. They think some scenes had no sense, and that they weren't understandable. Well, the thing is that it's partially true. I wouldn't say it's 'not well-structured', but probably it has a weird structure. Which isn't necessary bad. I mean, when i saw those "weird" scenes which had "no sense", i felt like I was reading a Grant Morrison's Batman comic book. There were dreams, visions, and all that kind of stuff during the movie. I found those scenes quite interesting and they made me think about their meaning, which i found great. The structure of the movie was obviously inspired by Grant Morrison's Batman comics. I loved that.
Some reviewers also were like "oh, this movie is so serious and dark". Well, this is DC Comics, so that's kind of obvious. When i went to watch the movie, I was already expecting a really serious and dark movie. However, the movie has some jokes in it which were actually funny and well placed, so i also liked that. Also, some people thought that the film was boring because it was pretty slow at the beginning, and the thing is i loved that because it was just like Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns. Those "boring" scenes were scenes which included the opinion of people. Like TV shows, interviews, and all that stuff. The Dark Knight Returns had plenty of that and, to me, it worked out pretty well. And so did in the movie. I loved seeing how people reacted to what happened in Man of Steel and their thoughts about Superman, those scenes made Superman and Batman look like REAL superheroes. It made me see the movie as if it was actually real. Which is amazing.
Something else I read a lot is "there is no reason for Batman and Superman to fight". Well, I was surprised to read that because the reason is actually really well-explained in the movie. Did those critics actually watch the movie? It doesn't look like they did. Finally, some reviewers said that the film was bad because they didn't like the result of the fight. I'm not even going to comment that, it's just a ridiculous argument.
Well, now I'm going to give a real review to the movie. I'm going to mention characters so if you don't even know which characters appear in the movie, i'm going to mention them. You could see that as a spoiler I guess. The film had great special effects, great introduction to every character (however, i didn't like how Wonder Woman was introduced in the movie. But that's just my opinion), amazing scenes and really serious things going on that make you think what you are seeing is REAL. These were real superheroes to me. What would really happen. Ben Affleck was amazing as Batman and probably the best Batman in film history. Henry Cavill was fine as Superman. Gal Gadot was fine as Wonder Woman. Most of people disliked the character of Lex Luthor because well, he is completely different to the comics. However, this is not THAT Lex Luthor, it's his son, Lex Luthor Junior, so it's technically a new character and they can do whatever they want with it. I didn't love this Lex Luthor but i didn't dislike it neither. There are a few cameos of other superheroes which are a bit forced, but i guess it's difficult not to force a lot of characters to be introduced in just one movie. The film was really dark, which i loved, and it took inspiration from a few comic books. It took inspiration from The Dark Knight Returns, Injustice, Grant Morrison's Batman, and other comics I won't mention not to spoil you. KGBeast appears in the movie, which is great, as he is such an underrated character. However, he doesn't look like in the comics. To sum up, almost all characters were great, the scenes were amazing, the story was really well written, good dialogues, realistic film, great special effects, and true to the comics. I'm giving it a 8/10 just because i disliked how Wonder Woman was itroduced, i felt 'meh' about Lex Luthor, and forced cameos. I also thought the transition between scenes were kind of weak, but whatever. I highly recommend it. And please, think about what you've just watched when the film ends. Don't talk crap about it thoughtlessly. Thanks for reading.
Good review. I completley agree with everything you have said here.
